Why we’re not at the WFC this year

Tomorrow, the World Floorball Championships starts off. Unfortunately, for the first time in four years, FloorballToday won’t be there.

As our budget is very, very limited – one might say it’s non-existent – we’ve decided not to travel to Switzerland to visit the tournament. We’re quite sad about it, as after Tampere 2015, Riga 2016, Bratislava 2017, and Prague 2018, this could have become the fifth WFC for us.

As our budget is too low, we have to cover the tournament from home, watching the games on YouTube. One of the small advantages is we can get to listen to Olly Hogben commentating on the games, but I guess that’s just a small perk.

We’ve recently launched a Patreon page, to find ourselves a budget to keep on working on FloorballToday. Please, consider to become a patron (it starts at $1 a month already!) and help us on our mission, to give floorball the platform it deserves.

Fact: in 2011, the record for the hardest ice hockey shot was broken: Denis Kulyash (Russia) managed to shoot with a speed of […]
