Which sticks and brands do pro players use? FloorballToday explains it to you in the Stick in the Spotlights series.
Today’s article is all about Jan Zaugg’s stick, blade, and hook!
Jan Zaugg, floorball star in Sweden
Since the start of this season, the young forward plays at Mullsjö (Sweden). His move from Köniz (Switzerland) started quite some buzz as many were looking forward to seeing Zaugg play in the SSL – and he’s not letting them down.
With 45 (32+13) points after 24 games, Zaugg is the top scorer of this team and #6 on the SSL’s top scorer’s list, only behind a few of the best goal scorers, like Gustav Fritzell, Alexander Galante Carlström, and Kim Nilsson.
How does he do it?

Well, besides his flawless technique, there’s the equipment:
“I play with Oxdog Hyperlight 27 and with the purple Optilight blade.”
Alright, second question: why?
“The reason is pretty simple: it’s just the lightest stick and lightest blade. That’s always what I’m looking for when I change to a new brand.”

When we asked Zaugg about his hook, he answered us:
“I usually hook it… but it goes back more and more after some time. I don’t really care anymore after a while 😅”

Expert thoughts
Hugo Falk (@hugofgfloorball) is here again, to let us know his thoughts about this stick and blade:
“Lightest stick in the world so I guess it’s a perfect fit for one of the most technical players in Sweden!”
