Swiss NLA season is over: no champion

Due to COVID-19 or the coronavirus, swissunihockey has decided the Swiss NLA will be canceled from tomorrow on, meaning season 2019/2020 will be one without a champion.

All games in all competitions have been canceled from tomorrow on, until the end of the season – meaning there will be no champions in both the men’s and the women’s NLA.

The games for promotion/relegation are something the Swiss NLA task force will work on in the upcoming days and weeks.

Michael Zoss, swissunihockey’s Executive Director, states:

“The latest developments concerning the corona virus and the associated health risks make it impossible to continue the championship. Therefore, the game will be discontinued as of tomorrow, Friday, in all leagues and categories. (…) There will therefore be no Swiss champion this season.”

Salibandyliiga

The Finnish Salibandyliiga has temporarily been shut down. The Swedish SSL will give an update tomorrow. Chances are this competition will be shut down as well, although it’s unclear yet whether this will only be temporarily or completely.
