What, at the start, looked like a walk in the park for Slovakia instead turned out to be a long, drawn-out and fairly even battle with Denmark. Despite the best of efforts from Denmark, the game ended 6-3 for Slovakia.
The ease with which Slovakia scored three times in the first 6 minutes made it seem like Denmark was no match for the Slovaks but Denmark was quick to bring their defense on par with the Slovak offense as well as scoring one goal for themselves. Despite a quick goal from Slovakia at the start of the second period giving them a 4-1 lead, it was Denmark that started a small comeback. Thanks to a powerplay goal by Cecilia Di Nardo and a beautiful counter goal by Lina Voldby, the spectators were gifted a very promising and exciting final period as the scoreboard read 4-3 for Slovakia when the second break started. However, Slovakia kept their composure. Michaela Spineraova bagged her fifth point goal of the day bringing the score 5-3 in favor of Slovakia which followed by the 6-3 from Kristina Hudakova.
