Pink Hockey: Floorball to fight cancer

In the beautiful mountains of the Austrian Alps, a very special floorball charity tournament will soon be organized with the aim of raising money in the fight against cancer.

On 21 September, the second edition of the Pink Hockey event will take place in Gmunden, a town in the Salzkammergut in Upper Austria, where all proceeds will go to the “Österreichische Krebshilfe”, the Austrian cancer research institute.

Last year’s first-time edition was a big success

The event started last year as a one-day hockey tournament and had a nice revenue of €4,000. This year the tournament has expanded and now features a floorball tournament played in the adjacent basketball arena. There are 5 women’s teams registered from 3 countries that will play games of 2×20 minutes.

De participating teams are:

FC Stern München (GER)
SK Metak Budejovice (CZE)
FSG Linz/Rum (AUT) National Champions and Co-organizer
SU Wiener Floorballverein (AUT)
VSV Unihockey (AUT)

In total 14 teams will participate in the tournament, 9 ice hockey and 5 floorball.
