In the best-of-7 quarterfinal series, Wiler-Ersigen has won its third game in a row against Uster, who now have to win all remaining games.
The first two games between the current champions and the #8 of the regular season finished in 12-5 and 8-6. Today, the third game seemed to be over in no-time. Wiler needed twelve minutes to take a 3-0 lead through Louis, Johnsson and Hollenstein. Uster’s Henriksson scored 3-1, but before the break Louis (his second) and Bischofberger scored put their team in a 5-1 lead.
Halfway the game, Juhola decreased the gap to 5-2 but Wiler-Ersigen didn’t despair and saw Johnsson score his second. As Mutter also found the net, the score after two periods was 7-2 already. In the third period, Daniel Johnsson completed his hattrick (8-2), but suddenly, Uster showed some signs of life by scoring two quick goals. However, a penalty shot from Väänänen silenced all hope for Uster and put the final score at 9-4.
Wiler has now won all of its three games and as it’s a best-of-7 series, only one more victory will do. On the other hand, if Uster still wants to reach the semifinals, they’ll have to win all remaining games. The next game will be played on Saturday, March 10 (19.00h).
