Växjö Vipers have in a press release announced a 2-year contract extension with their forward Jesper Sankell.

24 year old Jesper Sankell has grown to become one of Växjö Vipers’ most important forwards. So far this season he’s stood for 32 points (11+21), 2nd most in the team behind André Andersson, and 29th most in the entire league.

Sankell came to Växjö in 2013, and stayed there until 2015 when he joined Jönköpings IK, who then played in the Southern Allsvenskan (league below SSL), but only for half a season before going back to the Vipers again. Last season the club made it to a historical playoffs final, the first in the club’s history. Sankell was in that season a key player for the team as well, 41 points scored in the regular season and another 9 during the playoffs.
