The World Games

United States team introduction The World Games – All you need to know!

Source: Youtube IFF

The World Games 2017 is starting in just a couple of days. FloorballToday gives a brief overview of every team.

Group matches
27 July – Switzerland – USA
28 July – USA – Sweden

How far will the USA go?
Our friends from across the Atlantic have traveled far to participate in The World Games (although none of the players actually play in the United States themselves). One thing is sure: it will be a tough tournament for the team.  The team is placed in group B with giants Switzerland and Sweden – both title candidates. The United States’ players will have to take at least one game against these teams in order to make claims to the semifinals. The question is: can this David slay the Goliath?

3 players to watch

  • Terence Frank  – Great, stable goalkeeper who has been a core player in the team for many years.
  • Mikko Vaha-Vahe – Had an excellent WFC2016 performance and is one of their best defenders.
  • Robin Brown – Great forward and one of the USA’s top scorers. Featured in the Top 10 Players To Watch video.
