TRANSFER BOMB: Swedish world champion moves to Switzerland

UHC Uster, one of the Swiss NLA clubs, has gotten itself a strong center for next season. Joel Kanebjörk, three-time winner of the SSL and two-time world champion with Sweden, moves to Switzerland.

The 30-year-old center played at Örebro last season, one of the clubs that got promoted to the SSL. Kanebjörk became one of the strongholds and helped his team to finish at 12th place, a spot high enough to secure at least one more season in the SSL. In 31 games, Kanebjörk gained 11 points (4+7).

Before, the Swede played for Storvreta, with which he won the SSL three times. He moved to AIK afterwards, but returned after 2,5 years for another season at Storvreta. Now the center will try to find his luck in Switzerland. UHC Uster ended up at 8th place last season, but lost the quarterfinals 4-0 to Wiler-Ersigen. With Kanebjörk, goal is to make it to the playoffs again and maybe reach even further.
