Nico Salo, considered to be one of the very best players in the Finnish Salibandyliiga, will join Swedish FC Helsingborg as of next season.
The 23 year old is currently playing for reigning champions Classic, and was a part of the Finnish national team who took the gold medal in December’s world championships. In 120 games in Salibandyliiga, he has scored 88 points (41+47).
In a 1 year contract, with the option to another year, he will play for FC Helsingborg season 2017/2018 – a team filled with Finnish players. Juha Kivilehto, Mika Kohonen, Jami Manninen and Petri Hakonen, all from Finland, are currently playing for the club. Their head coach, Mika Ahonen is also Finnish. Last season Jani Kukkola and Mika Moilanen played there as well.
