The Swiss floorball season is over, as last Saturday Wiler-Ersigen won the Superfinal. The game was broadcasted live on television – and next year more games will follow!
Swiss Unihockey and SRF2 have announced that in next season up to ten playoff games will be broadcasted live on SRF2, a Swiss television channel. Every weekend one playoff game will be live on tv, preferably on Saturday evening. Also the other television channels and platforms (RTS, RSI, RTR) have the opportunity to report about the playoffs.
Daniel Bareiss, the president of Swiss Unihockey, says it’s a huge opportunity for Swiss floorball: “It’s the next logical step on the path Swiss floorball has taken”. Bareiss also stated the sport has been given a wide audience thanks to SRF2 and the new livestream platform.
SRF2 said to be very pleased with the joint commitment too. Roland Mägerle (SRF Head of sports): “Floorball is extremely dynamic and therefore very popular at the young generation.”
