Swedish Champions Storvreta are through to the final after beating Czech Mlada Boleslav with 10-5. Albin Sjögren played a big part in the victory with 4 goals and 1 assist.
Storvreta started the game with an early goal from Linus Jämtdal when he made 1-0 from short range. It took 13 minutes for Storvreta to score again when Albin Sjögren scored in powerplay to make it 2-0. Mlada Boleslav managed to create a few good chances in the first period but they did not score in the first period on Viktor Klintsten in the Storvreta net.
Three minutes into the second period there was a goal explosion with three goals within 1 minute and 29 seconds. Sjögren scored his second of the evening first. After that Jan Rehor scored the first goal for Boleslav but only 10 seconds later Valdemar Ahlroth scored 4-1. In the rest of the period Boleslav scored twice and Storvreta once to make the score 5-3 after two periods. Sjögren scored one of the goals to complete his hattrick.
Ahlroth started the third period with his second goal of tonight when he scored 6-3. Jan Natov did his best to keep the game alive with his 6-4 goal five minutes into the third period. After that goal Storvreta stepped up and scored three straight goals. Sjögren scored again for his fourth goal in the game. With a bit more then three minutes left Jiri Curney scored to make it 9-5. Unfortunately it was not enough for the Czechs that lost the game with 10-5 after a last Storvreta goal by Tobias Gustafsson.
The final tomorrow will be a rematch of the 2016 Champions Cup final in Borås when Storvreta won against Classic with 2-1. The two final teams already faced eachother once this season. When Storvreta was in Finland during the pre season they met Classic. Classic demolished Storvreta in that game winning 10-3 but it will be a compeletly different game tomorrow.
