Every year the Swedish Floorball Federation hands out a ”Player of the Year” award for the best performing player in SSL. The fifth nomination for season 2017/18 is Emil Johansson!
Emil Johansson is one of Sweden’s best defenders and has been a core player in the Swedish national team despite his relatively young age of 25. The fast and agile defender can often be found running around on his opponent’s half and plays a crucial role in the offensive capabilities of Falun’s feared first line. His skills earned him a place in the Top 10 Players of the Year.
“I have developed myself this season. One grows every year and becomes a bit more mature. I have gotten more routines and have made better decisions. Now I assess situations a bit better. It mirrors in my play.’, Johansson says to innebandy.se. At the same time, he is his own worst critic: ” I have more to give. It was an up-and-down season for me. I am not especially satisfied with the regular season. I have a so-so feeling about it but it was a change when I became a father. More than I anticipated”.
