After yesterday’s victory against Karhut, Salibandyliiga’s giants SC Classic broke a historical record as they’ve now gone undefeated 30 games in a row. If you include playoffs, they have a 39-game long winning streak.
SC Classic have been the dominant force in Finnish floorball the last years. They’ve won the championship 2016, 2017 and 2018 – and they’re seemingly not about to let anyone else win it any time soon. They’ve won all of the 6 games this season with an impressive 54-20 goal difference.
Yesterday’s opponent Karhut, currently at the 12th place in the table, was no match for the gold favorites who easily won 2-9. But this victory wasn’t just another 3 points, it was a historical milestone in Finnish floorball. It’s now been over a year and 30 league games since Classic lost a game.
It was on the 22nd of September 2017 that they lost to Esport Oilers 5-4 in overtime. If you want to find their last game completely without any points, you have to go back to March 2017 when Westend Indians won 9-8 in the first quarterfinal game.
The previous record holder is Viikingit who between 1997-1999 went undefeated 29 games in a row.
