Nicola Bischofberger leaves Falun – returns to Swiss champions

After joining IBF Falun in the Swedish Super League last summer, Nicola Bischofberger has on his Instagram announced that he wont play for the Swedish champions coming season.

Last summer it was announced that Falun had signed one of Switzerland’s most promising defenders, Nicola Bischofberger from SV Wiler-Ersigen. He was signed on a 1 year loan and would return to Wiler-Ersigen afterwards.

The 22 year old international produced 4 points in the regular season, and not a single point in the playoffs – largely due to his limited time on the field. When Falun defeated Växjö 5-4 in the Superfinal to become Swedish champions, Bischofberger didn’t play a single minute.

Several Swiss players transferred to SSL ahead of season 2016/17. Among them were  Nico Scalvinoni and Simon Flühman who joined IBK Dalen – however both have decided to return to the Swiss league.

@nicolabischofberger on instagram:

”It’s time to leave Falun. I was glad to be here, even if I didn’t play my best floorball. Tack för allt.”
