Open diary during WFC – these are the Latvian team players that give you a look behind the scenes

Today the 11th Women’s World Floorball Championship starts in Bratislava, Slovakia. This will also be 11th WFC for team Latvia. We are going to introduce you to three players from Latvian National team who play in Latvian Elite League, that will tell you a little bit about our everyday life in the Championship.

Monika Dzigure #4 – Only two years ago I watched Latvia playing in WFC and hoped, that one day I will play there too. Right now, I have been given the opportunity to play in Latvian National team.  This will be my first WFC. I’m excited and at the same time nervous because I don’t know what to expect. Hopefully, after the first game, the stress will fade away. Dreams do come true.

Liba Daija #8 –  I have been playing floorball for 9 years and this is going to be my second WFC. I took part in the previous tournament at 2015 in Tampere. Playing in the Latvian National team is one of my main goals. I have learned a lot by playing in the WFC and I have gain experience, that helps me improve my skills. During this tournament, I hope that there will be the same amount of positive emotions as previously. Looking forward to a great tournament!

Eliza Berzina #10 – This is my third WFC and I’m as excited, happy and thrilled as in the first one. I have been playing for 10 years and I was only 16 years old, when I started playing in National team. Through these years, I have gained experience, skills and confidence in my play. To play in Latvian National team and to represent my country has always been an honor for me. Nowhere else it is possible to experience such a wide range of emotions. Just play, have fun and enjoy the game!

Team Latvia’s first game will be played today against Czech Republic at 15.15 local time. Don’t miss it!
