Together with the coaches of the Swedish Super League, Innebandymagazinet hands out the ”Rookie of the Year” award every year. Here’s the 8th candidate – AIK’s young forward Axel Larson.
AIK’s 3rd nominated player for the Rookie of the Year award is 20 year old Axel Larson. Just like his team mate Simon Götz, Larson transferred from Stockholm rival Djurgårdens IF to AIK to play his first season in the SSL last summer.
Larson has merits from the Swedish U19 national team, and was a part of ”Top and Talent”, a training camp for players between the U19 and senior national team. Together with Casper Backby, Larson were the youngest to participate with the otherwise 2-3 year older players.
Larson summarizes his first season in the SSL:
”It took a while in the beginning to adapt, but I felt that I got used to it after a while. It was a fun and instructive debut season in the SSL for me. I’m excited for next season”
