IBF Falun’s Alexander Galante Carlström won’t play for Sweden at the World Floorball Championships 2018 qualifiers. He still hasn’t recovered 100% from his foot injury he got a month ago.

Update: the replacements have been announced!

On Wednesday Sweden will travel to Nitra in Slovakia to play against 4 other countries for a spot in December’s WFC. But they will have to do it without their very best scorer, Alexander Galante Carlström. The 28-year old is currently the SSL’s top goal scorer with 33 done so far, despite having only played 19 games. All 4 players above him in the scoring league have played 25.

Galante, who got rated as the best player in the world last year, has had a somewhat rough season involving both illness and a reoccurring injury in his foot. At new years, he injured it in a bizarre bob slide accident. But in his comeback game against Örebro 9 days ago, he scored a hat-trick already in the first period. Omar Aldeeb, Galante’s team mate in Falun will miss his national team debut.
