It was anything but a relaxed semifinals series between Chodov and Vitkovice, even though the 4-1 in games could give a different idea. But, in the end, it was Vitkovice to draw the longest straw and will meet Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Superfinals on 21 April – exactly in 10 days.
When Martin Tokos suddenly left Switzerland to play for Vitkovice, reaching the Czech Superfinals was anything but a certainty. Beating Stresovice, the #7 of the Czech league, was a tough challenge. The team won with 4-1 in games but no fewer than 4 of the 5 games were decided in overtime or penalties. Against Chodov a similar pattern showed up as the series involved 3 overtime deciders. It would probably be a good idea for Mlada Boleslav, whom Vitkove will meet in the finals, to decide the game in regular time: of the 7 matches that were stretched into overtime, Vitkovice won 6.
