How the FAN promotes Urban Floorball in the Netherlands

In the Netherlands, the Floorball Academy Netherlands (FAN) is one of the driving forces in promoting floorball. Together with Sepcourt they’ve worked out a multicourt (outdoor!) on which floorball can be played.

The multicourt itself can be used for more than floorball, but in cooperation with Sepcourt an outdoor rink was created too. Using this rink, players can actually play floorball outdoors on a small field – perfect for 2-vs-2 or 3-vs-3 games! Last Thursday the first multicourt got its grand opening at the Canisius College in Nijmegen.

During the opening, some players from Floorball Flames, a First Division (the Netherlands’ second league) club, showed the crowd how floorball should be played. Everyone could join – and many did. One of the FAN’s goals is to promote urban floorball and show that the sport can be played nearly everywhere.
