Finland – Latvia 9-2
Finland are continuing their dominance streak with yet another win. This time Latvia were at the receiving end. With this victory, Finland have placed themselves in the semifinals, and are just two wins away from becoming world champions but will have strong resistance as they meet their nemesis Sweden in the semifinals on Saturday. Latvia, thanks to a crucial win against Norway have secured future placement in Division A and will play for 5th place on Saturday against Slovakia.
Switzerland – Norway 7-2 (highlights)
A solid victory for Switzerland, although Norway initially showed resistance. The Swiss took a 2-0 lead, but before the first break started, Norway struck back and scored 2-1. Halfway the game, both teams had scored once more (3-2), but from that moment, Switzerland started securing its semifinal ticket, increasing its lead to the final result of 7-2.
Sweden – Denmark 15-5
Sweden fully recovered from its painful loss against the Czech Republic on the opening day of the tournament with its second victory in a row. Denmark, on the other hand, has now lost all of its group stage matches. During this game, ten goals were scored in the first period (7-3), while the other ten were divided equally over the remaining two periods.
Czech Republic – Slovakia 7-3 (highlights)
Slovakia needed a win in order to get to the semifinals and their start was more than promising. The team took the lead (0-2), but in less than fifteen minutes, the Czechs turned the score around to a 5-2 lead in their favor. The Czech Republic is the winner of group B, while Slovakia ends up at the third place and will play for the 5th spot in the final ranking.
