No time to waste for the Swiss floorball players from the NLA: yesterday and today they played (or will play) round 9, while tomorrow round 10 already starts. Six games will be played on Sunday!
The day starts off with newcomers Zug United. In their home arena, they welcome Köniz, although they’re hoping to see them leave emptyhanded. Köniz has had one day of rest more than Zug, which might make the difference. Malans meets Langnau, or: the Alligators face the Tigers. Before the weekend, the teams were at fourth (Tigers) and fifth place, so the winning team can keep up with the top, while the losing team falls back to the middle of the ranking.
Champions Wiler-Ersigen doesn’t seem to have the hardest weekend, as first, they played against #11 Chur (Saturday), followed by this game against #8 Uster. Shortly after the match has started, HCR and Thun will start off their first period. Rychenberg (ninth place) has had one of the worst season starts ever. The defense seems to be their Achilles’ heel: in eight games 65 goals were scored against, more than eight per game – and more than their opponent Thun has gotten against (63).
Kloten-Bülach Jets have Chur Unihockey visiting. Chur just said goodbye to one of its most remarkable players: Martin Tokos has left the country again due to sad personal issues. Chur – standing at 11th place – definitely needs some more points, but the same can be said about the Jets (10th). In the last game, top scorer of the NLA Joël Rüegger will try to see if he can help his GC Zürich move up even more. He scored 26 points (14+12) already, in just eight games. WaSa is doing great too, currently standing at sixth place, but this will be a tough match for them!
